A while ago I did a rec post of horror H/C recs; I thought I should balance that out with some schmoop recs! One of these is a fill for one of our bygone memes, and two are from spnkink_meme that the author links to from their journal. The great thing about spnkink_meme, I've determined, is that it has this magical tendency to deliver so well to other people's kinks, it awakens in you kinks you didn't know you had.

The Drop

Original Prompt: While Castiel and Dean have an awareness of BDSM practices, actually engaging in them is a new thing for them, and they haven't come across anything discussing the importance of aftercare and the possibility of subdrop. Thus, after a spanking session or similar, Castiel ensures that Dean is physically okay but leaves shortly afterwards (maybe for something completely innocuous like making them some tea or taking a shower, or he has to leave on heavenly business), leaving Dean alone in bed/on the couch/wherever and utterly overwhelmed- and not in a good way any more. Sam stumbles across him and figures out what's going on. As a more experienced dom than Cas, he gets Dean a drink and a blanket before calling Castiel back and showing him how to take care of Dean properly.

Reccer's Notes: That thing where I was talking about finding kinks you didn't know you had? This. Fic. Dean/subdrop is now my OTP, that is all, the end. And I love Sam in this so much. He's so chillaxed and matter-of-fact about everything but still stern. This is VERY much a fic you read with your heart, because the tenderness, I can't even handle it. <3

Strays Like Us

Original Prompt: Dean is sick and feverish with a cold and Sam has a heart for nurse play. He takes Dean's temperature, feels his pulse, maybe even uses medical instruments like a stethoscope. Normally Dean wouldn't let him and make a fuss about it, but he's rather to sick for a bitch fit or Sam is able to convince him of the necessity of the exams. Dean's all pliant and easily obeying to Sam's gentle commands to 'open his mouth' or 'tilt his head', even if he complains about things being 'cold' or unpleasant. Sam really, really (!) likes Dean being so submissive and pets and comforts him all the time while he exams him.

Reccer's Notes: I don't really have good things to say here, because my reactions to these fics are so affective--so really I'm reccing on the hopes that the prompts and the promise of heart-squeezing feels will reel you in. :P To further titillate, an excerpt:

"S'okay, Dean," he says. His fingers slide into Dean's hair, combing it back, slow enough that Dean doesn't seem to register the petting. He gets like this sometimes, when he's sick, letting some things slide under the radar.

Summary: Dean sleepwalks. And then Dean sleepwalks outside. Into the cold.

Sam couldn’t remember Dean ever doing anything more than muttering incomprehensibly in his sleep, so the stories were just funny, harmless. Unrelated to his brother as he knew him.

But that night[...]

Reccer's Notes: There's sleepwalking, and manhandling, and hypothermia, and bed-sharing and BROMENTS OF BOTH TRAGIC AND ADORABLE NATURES. Need I say more?? Sam's narration in this is entire galaxies of poignant, and the dialogue in the last part of this is so light and so at odds with Sam's thoughts (and yet not at odds with those thoughts at all--classic Winchester paradox) that it makes it a little hard to breathe. Guh. <33
