A few ground-rules:

01. As for what type of thing you should be prompting here, this is a Dean-focused hurt/comfort community, so Dean should be the one in the hurt/comforted role. Your prompts may involve sick!Dean, (yes, please!) angsty!Dean, hurt!Dean, or anything else that results in Dean being on the receiving end of hurt/comfort.

02. Comment to this post with your desired characters or pairings, if any, and a prompt. All genres/pairings are welcome, however this is not an RPF meme. Please focus on the fictional characters only.

Example A: “Sam, Dean, gen, set in season 4. PTSD!Dean has a flashback to hell on a hunt and almost gets himself and Sam killed. Cue guilty, upset Dean and awesome, comforting Sam.”
Example B: “Sam/Dean, fever. Dean has the chills and there is cuddling, naaw.”

03. You can leave as many prompts as you like, but one prompt per comment, please. If you've got a few, comment with each separately.

04. Your prompts can be as short or as detailed as you’d like.

05. Scroll through the comments and when/if you find a prompt you like, write a fic in reply to the comment.

06. More than one comment-fic response to a prompt is totally acceptable, and in fact encouraged. The more fic, the better!

07. Art submissions are very much accepted too! Art larger than 800 px or so should be posted as a thumbnail that links back to the full art, please.

08. When replying to a prompt with your comment-fic or art, put 'FILLED' in your subject line as well as warning for anything that might be triggering, such as non-con, self-harm, etc. You can add anything else you want too, ie: a title if you have one/part numbers. So, your subject line should look something like this:

FILLED: Title, Character(s), genre/pairing(s), Rating, Warning(s) - if any

For further clarification:

Example: FILLED: Untitled, Dean and Sam, gen, PG-13, self-harm

It’s not a big deal if you don't do all of this, but using 'FILLED' as well as warnings will make it easier for people to find your fic, and for me when I’m compiling the masterlist.

09. Anonymous posting is enabled in case you’re embarrassed by your schmoopiest of schmoopy hurt/comfort fantasies or something, haha. IP logging will also be off during the weeks the meme is at it’s most active.

10. No spoilers for upcoming episodes, please. If you're prompting something from a recently aired episode, (like the finale) please be courteous and note that there may be spoilers before you get to the main part of your request. Or you can use the following code. Just put your prompt/text where it says to:

• As for a timeframe - this post will be open for prompting between one and two weeks or so. There’s no exact timeframe, because I play it by ear and don’t close it until I see it’s starting to slow down. In any case, it will stay open indefinitely for new comment-fics and comments/feedback.

He waits it out, until Dean makes a motion and jumps down on the ground. He turns towards Castiel, eyes wide, almost asking permission. Castiel tells him that he can go wherever he wishes, but apparently he doesn’t understand what Dean means because Dean doesn’t move and holds out a hand in Castiel’s direction.

“Oh. Do you want me to go with you?”

Dean nods again and Castiel takes his hand, letting himself be lead. When Dean stops, they’re in front of a number of swings. There’s a free one and Dean goes next to it, sitting on it but not moving. Castiel observes the other parents - they’re all pushing the kids forward.

Castiel moves closer, closing his fingers on the chains holding the swings. “You want me to push you.” It’s not a question. Dean nods twice, obviously excited and seemingly pleased with the fact that Castiel is guessing everything right. It’s not that hard - Castiel could always read Dean and right now it’s not more difficult than it’s on a normal basis - but it still makes Castiel feel pleased himself.

So he pushes, and makes sure that it goes as high as it can. He sort of sees why children would like this - it’s as close to flying as they might get. Castiel thinks he gets it. And when he sees Dean grinning openly as he pushes him up, he’s sure that if anything, he got this one right.

It takes Dean half an hour to get tired, but when he gets off the swing he’s breathless in the good way, his cheeks flushed, his hair mussed, and Castiel can’t really help the thought - he’s endearing. He can’t also stop himself from running a hand through Dean’s hair to put it back in place. Dean sends him half a smile at that, and Castiel has to half-smile back. He doesn’t look as solemn or haunted as he had when Castiel had walked into the motel room - he thinks he can chalk it up as a victory. He asks Dean whether he’d like to go back to the motel, but Dean shakes his head - Castiel has an idea that he wants to give Sam free time. Which is both heartbreaking and endearing at the same time - Castiel can’t quite decide. But when Castiel asks him if he wants to stay here a bit longer, Dean shakes his head as well. Castiel opts for just walking around until he finds another option, and when Dean holds out his hand again, Castiel takes it and leads him out of the park, figuring that he’ll come up with something else to do while taking a look around.

They’ve been walking for about fifteen minutes when Dean stops in the middle of the street. He follows Dean’s stare and sees that he’s definitely looking at what looks like an ice cream shop. Castiel moves closer, looking inside. It’s a nice shop, or Castiel figures it’s nice by human standards; the walls are all painted in white, the chairs and tables in the booths are of a different color for each booth, and there’s an impressive amount of flavors to choose from. It’s also quite crowded - he figures that it means that the quality is good as well. He looks at Dean, then at the inside of the shop again. Dean is biting his bottom lip, and he’s really not being subtle. Castiel doesn’t even ask - he does have the money after all - and he walks inside the shop, Dean’s hand still around his, gripping it a bit tighter. He chooses a blue booth and motions for Dean to sit, but as soon as Castiel sits next to him, Dean refuses to let go of his hand and Castiel settles for bringing Dean on his lap, making sure that the position is comfortable. He opens the menu so that Dean can see it. He turns the pages while Dean looks at the choices and shakes his head, until at some point Dean squeezes his shoulder. Castiel glances at the page - there are four different types of cups, though he couldn’t tell the difference himself.

“Did you choose?”

Dean holds up three fingers. “The third? Very well.”
