Hello all! *waves*

I'm your friendly neighbourhood March-reccer. And I'm late. Terribly so. I will go put myself in the corner after this, rest assured.
I've been trying to dig up things for you all to read, and I went through a horrible few days where I tried to think up a theme for the things I rec, but as it turns out I get most of my hurt!Dean-fix from hoodie_time, so... Yeah. There's that.

My theme is hereby: "Stuff I keep returning for because I'm never done reading these".

Title: The Winchester guide to the gastronomically challenged
Author: [livejournal.com profile] angeltrap
Tags: anaphylaxis/severe allergic reaction, allergies, asphyxia (strangulation/choking/etc.), hospitalization, drugs (medical), dizziness/vertigo, unconsciousness
Characters: Sam, Dean, supporting OMC's.
Genre/pairing: Gen, hurt comfort, family.
Rating: I'd rate this G.
Word-count: ~5000
Summary:For this prompt by rbmi_fan on hoodie_time's Summer-themed comment meme: Sam and Dean clear out a ghost for a rich business guy, who rewards them very generously. They go out for supper at this fancy coastal seafood restaurant (because it's summer), and Dean is so distracted by the unusually upscale environment that he accidentally eats something with shrimp in it and goes into anaphylactic shock. Cue freaking out customers and frantic Sam trying to find the epipen. And maybe afterwards Dean is all woozy and clingy from oxygen deprivation <3
Reccer’s comments: This is just the right combination of funny and hurty that makes even those of us who have done crap like this in restaurants want to keep on reading. Go read! It's all schmoopy and hurty and nice!

Title: Sweet as Sweet as Sweet Can Be
Author:[livejournal.com profile] selecasharp
Tags: diabetes, exposure/contamination, chronic illness, comfort food (pie!/etc.), unconsciousness, drugs (medical)
Characters: Sam/Dean
Genre/pairing: Hurt/comfort, Romance
Rating: R/Hard R
Word-count: ~7050
Spoilers: Vague for the series.
Warnings: Language, non-detailed sex, diabetic!Dean
Summary: As if taking on slime monsters wasn’t bad enough, after the hunt Dean’s sugar drops dangerously low, and Sam has to step in and take care of him.
Reccer’s comments: Hurts so goooood! This almost made me a fan of slime monsters. Really did. Beautifully written, funny and interesting and just great. I feel for poor, stressed out Sam every time I read this (which is, admittedly, about once a week).

Title: 'S'Okay. He's my brother."
Author: [livejournal.com profile] rainylemons
Tags: fibromyalgia/chronic fatigue syndrome, fainting/collapse, drugs (medical), exhaustion, chronic illness,
Characters: Sam, Dean
Genre/pairing: None?
Rating: PG for language
Word-count: 6256
Warnings: Author warns for SCHMOOP. Author is correct.
Summary: Dean suffers from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, but struggles to stay awake to watch over Sam.
Reccer’s comments: This was one of the first things I read that really stuck in my mind. You know the fic you just suddenly remember, and then go searching for for ages because you can't find it and didn't bookmark it and it's all a disaster? I'm sure I'm not the only one to swoon over Dean's woozy little head here.

Title: Dust Devils (masterpost)
Author: [livejournal.com profile] sharlot1926
Tags: amnesia/memory loss, aphasia, carried!dean, concussion/head trauma, headache/migraine, gunshot wound, fever, fainting/collapse, emotional pain/hurt, infection, pain, supernatural injury/trauma, unconsciousness, wound-tending,
Characters: Sam, Dean, Bobby, Ellen, various OC's.
Rating: R
Word-count: 150k words, total
Spoilers: Spoilers for S2 up to and including BUABS
Warnings: Language, disturbing imagery, sexual situations, children in peril, violence, reference to sexual assault.
Summary: The Winchesters fight time, a vengeful spirit, and a wind demon in order to save a little girl from the monster who's stalking her. Hurt!Dean, Heavily Dean-centric
Reccer’s comments: If you're anything like me you get bouts of "I need to read something long." And this is long, but so good that I keep coming back for it. If I had it in book form, it'd be up there with my old beat up paperbacks that I bring everywhere. Don't let the length scare you off; The mystery is delightfully mysterious, the characters are original and interesting and all kinds of lovable, and once you've finished reading you've forgotten that it's not actually a part of the series at all. Take a bit of time out of your schedule, and go read!

I'm sorry about all the mess with the tags (it must be a mess, because my head is a mess after trying to figure it all out), and so I'll just leave you with this! Go read, enjoy, have a lovely Sunday, and I can't wait to hear more from all of you over at the comment meme, which I'm updating in the hopes of new fills about once a minute.

Let me know if I'm doing things wrong, and I'll try to get it fixed as soon as I can. :)

Whoo hoo! Thanks for the hurt Dean recs! I'm pretty sure the only one I've read is Dust Devils and what a fantastic story that was. Got to check the rest out.
