Title: Celadon
Author: Hanson's Angel
Tags: cold/flu, fever, injury, respiratory illness
Characters: Dean, John
Genre/pairing: Gen
Rating: PG-13
Word-count: 7,869
Spoilers: Pre-series, Stanford era, so no spoilers.
Warnings: Rated for language.
Summary: John and Dean are hunting without Sam and they miss him in their own ways. Dean is sick. There is angst.
Reccer’s comments: Hanson’s Angel is back (on ff.net, not LJ) in case you were unaware! Yay! I love her writing, not only because we share an affinity for many of the same types of h/c, but also because it always feels so organic. It just flows really well and the h/c is well-earned and delicious. This latest fic is an example of that.
Title: I Guess We Know the Score

Tags: childhood trauma, cuts/lacerations, daddy issues, hunger/starvation, injury, nausea/vomiting, pretty!Dean, prostitution, secrets (somebody finds out), self-esteem issues
Characters: Dean, John, Sam, OMCs
Genre/pairing: Dean/OMC. (This reccer would call it gen with some Dean/OMC.)
Rating: R
Word-count: 2,000
Spoilers: None. Pre-series.
Warnings: Language and teenage prostitution. Nothing graphic though.
Summary: Sometimes Dad doesn't leave them nearly enough money. Sammy gets hungry, Dean doesn't know any other way out.
Reccer’s comments: This one was posted to the comm yesterday as part of our Writing Between the Lines challenge. It deals with the familiar trope of hooker!Dean. What I really like about it is it’s harsh, matter-of-factness. An unflinching portrayal of John, Dean, and the subject matter.
Title: Down
Author:
whereupon
Tags: concussion/head trauma, psychological issues
Characters: Sam, Dean, John
Genre/pairing: Sam/Dean
Rating: R
Word-count: 2,600
Spoilers: Pre-series
Warnings: None
Summary: There's always going to be something else to hunt.
Reccer’s comments: This is nearly surreal in it’s loveliness. It captures the pre-Stanford timeframe very well - Dean knowing Sam's not going to stick around much longer, Sam not wanting to stick around much longer, but still loving Dean like crazy - and the helplessness and tangled emotions of it all.

Date: 2011-04-03 03:38 pm (UTC)It's really ridiculously warm and sunny (and I'm actually sitting outside rn, haha). I think I'll take a run later, when the sun's almost down.
You can do it! You love running. *cheers*

Date: 2011-04-03 03:43 pm (UTC)& thanks for the cheering. A combo of it and my dog STARING AT ME expectantly has convinced me I should get off my ass, haha.
