Dean's face has lost all traces of his earlier blush and John’s pretty sure he could count individual freckles if he tried. His blue tinged lips are opening, closing in quick, choppy motions, desperately trying to draw in breaths with a sickening wheezing sound that sounds altogether too close to a death rattle.
