With [livejournal.com profile] hoodie_time's themed week starting tomorrow, I thought I'd unofficially wrap up last month's comment meme with a few recs. (Unofficially, because it is never too late to fill a prompt. ;D) In an effort not to simply rec basically the entire masterlist, I figured I'd start by reccing the entire masterlist. Because really, I rec everyhing! Check out everything!

To help express the tremendous variation and experimentation of this meme's fills, however, I've highlighted a few pieces:

Home by [livejournal.com profile] annonwrite
Genre: Stanford!era alternate timeline
Characters: Dean, Sam, Jess
Pairing: Sam/Jess
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: ~1200

The gorgeous specificity of language, pristine dialogue, and understated--yet extremely evocative--tone of this piece really emphasizes each brief encounter between Dean, Sam, and Jess during Sam's time at Stanford. Each scene feels painfully delicate (in the best of ways), and yet, is undergirded by unmistakable love, security, a sense of 'home' you don't often expect, or find, in SPN.

How to Get Over a Broken Neck (and other advice for hunters with homicidal family members) by [livejournal.com profile] i_speak_tongue
Genre: 1x10 "Asylum" tag!fic, alternate timeline
Characters: Sam, Dean, OCs
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: ~3000

Immaculately situated in S1 canon (plot-wise as well as emotionally), [livejournal.com profile] i_speak_tongue's fic excavates fresh ground alongside 1x10 "Asylum," which is particularly impressive given the massive corpus of excellent and variegated fanworks that have sprung from these same roots over the last nine years (!). A combination of deft character interactions and exquisite internal dialogue, this fic balances vulnerability, fear, and steady un-histrionic humanity in a way that makes me fall in love with Dean all over again.

Submerged by [livejournal.com profile] ever_dimming
Genre: S4 hell/post-hell issues, outsider!POV
Characters: Dean, OCs, Sam
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: ~4700

There's a horizon to the speaker in this fic that stretches beyond the moment of her encounter with Dean, without diluting the intensity of the immediate narrative. And more than that, there's a horizon to the world into which that narrative intervenes. This is a fic with an ER that can't necessarily promise 24/7 supervision of one patient amongst many. Sure, it's a small detail, but it speaks to more than its face value; and this fic turns expertly on minutiae--from the taste of coffee to what the speaker does and does not see in Dean, to a dim smile of Sam's, which "must have been lovely once."

3 more! Dissociation feat. Dean+Sam, threat of possession/aftermath/TERRIBLE S9THINGS feat. Dean+Abaddon/Dean+Sam, and wonderful H/C fic that is Definitely Not Crack!fic... )

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO REC YOUR FAVORITES, TOO! You can either link them here in the comments, or put together your own separate rec post. :)

Additionally everyone should ALSO DEFINITELY FEEL FREE to cross-post your fills to the main comm, too! Don't be shy--let the world see what we've wrought, nyeh heh heh heh. >:D

Title: Breath of Life
Characters: Sam, Dean, OFC
Genre: Gen
Rating: G
Word count: 1100
Summary:  Sam needs a pit stop.  Things go downhill from there.
A/N: Written for this prompt: I'd like to see some good old-fashioned H/C. No monsters, no fuglies, no witches. Just.. Say there's a long drive, and a gas station and, oh, Dean, what are you doing on the floor behind the candy aisle?  By marieincolour at the most recent Hoodietime Commentfic Meme

( “C’mon, man,” Sam begs, shifting uncomfortably in his seat. “I need a pit stop.” )

Author: [livejournal.com profile] runedgirl
Artist: [livejournal.com profile] siennavie
Beta: [livejournal.com profile] without_me
Rating: NC17
Word count: 14,700

Summary: On a cold November day in 2015, the demons finally gave up on Earth and went back to hell. The angels left a day later. Sam woke up in the bunker the morning after everything changed feeling exactly the same. It took four years, three weddings, two guinea pigs, and Dean nearly dying for Sam to realize that nothing was the same after all. Especially his feelings for his brother.

Title: An Intimate History Of Collecting
Rating: R
Genre/Pairing: Gen, Pre-series through to 8.01
Characters: Dean, Sam, John
Words: 4,500
Warnings: Graphic description of suicide attempt / implied major character death. Potential triggers.
Summary: Okay, so. Here’s the thing you need to understand: Dean Winchester collects other people’s medication.

Written as a very belated fill for a Wish List entry by [livejournal.com profile] maypoles: You know how Dean sometimes has these mystery pills onscreen? It’s my head-canon he takes them from (deceased) victim’s medicine cabinets on cases they’re on. What are they? How many is he taking? Something about how this doesn’t end so well for him.
