Me again, with my last set of recs for this month! At least in Japan, August is a month of ghost and monster stories. Since maypoles recently posted some fantastic Dean/Alistair recs, I wanted to continue in that vein and round out the summer with some Dean/demons recs! >:D

To start us off, Dean's encounter with exactly those Japanese demons I was talking about...

Reccer’s comments: This one isn't overtly H/C (it was done for sharp_teeth), but I just had to include it; and you know Dean's not getting out of this one unscathed. Gorgeous stylization, delightfully creepy, and wonderful composition.

Title: Through a Mirror, Dimly

Summary: Sam isn’t Sam anymore, Cas isn’t Cas anymore, Lisa doesn’t even want to know him, and even though he’s got back everything he thought he’d never have again, Dean’s never been more alone.
Reccer’s comments: Dean's relationship with Hell, and the things in Hell, is one of the most interesting and best-explored periods in fandom. This fic expresses Dean's relationship with Meg (and himself) with devastatingly clarity.

Reccer’s comments: Great expansion of the darkest point of Dean's hallucinations in 4x06. From Sam's shaky reassurance to Lilith's biting quasi-tenderness, everything about this is pitch-perfect.

I'm trying something new out here. At the end of this month, (and once a month or so in future months, if you guys like the plan) I’ll be making a post highlighting 5 random prompts from our various comment memes that have yet to be filled, in the hopes that someone/several people will pick them up.
