Fic:
...move the Earth by
demonic_fish
Author's notes/summary: Dean said 'yes'. Now, after the fight is over, it's not clear who got the short end of the stick here - Dean, who is catatonic and helpless, Castiel, who takes care of the savior of the mankind, or Sam, who has to live with all of it - and with himself. Spoilers for season 5. Warnings: non-sexualized mention of various bodily fluids, language. R. Sam, Dean, Castiel, gen.
Reccer's notes: This deals with something I haven't seen explored in fic before, though I've very much wanted to. It was painful and heartfelt and real. I especially loved the way the author portrayed Sam here, as flawed and very human and loving his brother so much.

Author's notes/summary: Remember that scene towards the end of Wendigo when Sam cuts Dean down and asks if Dean's okay? And Dean grunts, "Yeah. Yeah. Whereisit?" Season one, post-Wendigo. PG. Sam, Dean, gen.
Reccer's notes: This is lovely. Set post-Wendigo, it really captures the tone of the series back then, and the delicate balance of the boys' relationship as they're just getting to know each other again. It's also kind of bittersweet, reading it now when we know what's to come.

Author's notes/summary: Takes place after 5x02. Let's just say spoilers up to 5x05 to be safe. Sick Dean, angsty stuff, kind of sappy and weird Biblical references on my part. May be AU as well. Rated "T" for some language, gen.
Reccer's notes: A beautiful look at the brothers beginning to rebuild themselves and their relationship in season 5. The whole last few paragraphs had me gazing sappy-eyed at the computer screen, not because they were sappy (they definitely weren't) but because they were so heartfelt and rang so true for me.

Hurt by

Vidder's notes/summary: Dean's hurting in more ways than one. Set to "Hurt" by Johnny Cash. Character study, angst.
Reccer's notes: I'd heard this song so many times that I honestly doubted a vid could surprise me with what footage it used for what lyrics, etc, but I was dead wrong. This vid is perfection, surprising but spot-on in every way. Just wonderfully done. I may have even sniffled a little watching it.
