A few ground-rules:

01. As for what type of thing you should be prompting here, this is a Dean-focused hurt/comfort community, so Dean should be the one in the hurt/comforted role. Your prompts may involve sick!Dean, (yes, please!) angsty!Dean, hurt!Dean, or anything else that results in Dean being on the receiving end of hurt/comfort.

02. Comment to this post with your desired characters or pairings, if any, and a prompt. All genres/pairings are welcome, however this is not an RPF meme. Please focus on the fictional characters only.

Example A: “Sam, Dean, gen. 10x09 aftermath.”
Example B: “Sam/Dean, fever. Dean has the chills and there is cuddling, naaw.”

He buries it in his own stomach, leaving Sam to try desperately to keep him alive and get him to medical help.

Dean begins having panic attacks. Full-blown, hyperventilating, shaking, thinks-he’s-gonna-die panic attacks. He doesn’t want anyone to know, especially not Sam, so he tries to keep it to himself, but of course, eventually Sam figures it out. Maybe Sam gets thrown across a graveyard during a salt and burn or something, and Dean thinks he’s hurt and freaks out? And then Sam has to help him through it, and figures out that this has been happening for a while.

The Mark needs to be fed with violence, but since Dean is avoiding violent behavior (along with alcohol and other vices) the pain and "withdrawal symptoms" are getting worse. Castiel can't remove the Mark, but can use his grace to help Dean temporarily - all he has to do is call.

Typical Dean "not wanting to ask for help" welcome. Cas can transfer the grace by touch in any way you think might work most effectively... ;) (Destiel or gen Dean & Cas friendship are fine) Castiel is more than willing to assist in any way he can.

Bonus frustrated Sam calling Cas because Dean's too stubborn to request healing since Cas has limited grace is very welcome.

So he quietly renovates a room in the bunker in case Dean has a relapse and needs to be kept away from others and safe from himself until they find a cure.

Somehow it makes Sam feel a little less helpless...The process of padding walls and finding furniture Dean can't use against himself or others is painful - but it's Sam's turn to take care of Dean, and he's going to do it right.

Bionic Man by

Gen, please. Sam n Dean only (no Cas). Dean is being tormented by the Mark of Cain, unable to discern what is real and what isn't and he attacks Sam. Sam can be injured or not but he succeeds in subduing Dean and locks Dean into the dungeon (that storage room where Dean was de-demonized) with him. Denied access to weapons or even the ability to give in to the bloodlust threatening to consume him, Dean begins going through his own version of demon blood withdrawal. Or maybe it's the effects of the Mark threatening to consume him on top of alcohol withdrawal. In any case, it's clear that the Mark is killing Dean and something needs to be done. Cue in Sam in a race against time (and fighting off Dean at every turn) until the solution becomes abundantly clear: Sam is going to have to amputate Dean's arm. Civil War style please (think handsaws, etc). There can be hospitals and gen TLC after as Dean comes back to himself.

So Sam tries to pull some therapy / intervention stuff on Dean, but he basically knows only what he can get from basic google searches and tv representations of interventions, so it all goes kinda wrong.

(I'm currently thinking about how, very often, interventions are shown to be interspersed with "get sober or I won't speak to you ever again", which sounds like it could be incredibly damaging to hear to someone who refuses to think about getting sober.)

Joke's On You by

So, I've been rewatching some early episodes and realized how disappointed I am that we never got to see the fallout from the YE!John/Dean interactions. I can't help but think that it would have led to all sorts of involuntary flinching and unpleasant, buried issues being dragged up and not a whole lot of talking things out.

So, prompt: Something similar happens during the Stanford years. Some plot device of your choice took over John's body and Dean ended up a bloody mess on the floor. And now the thing is dead and they're back in their motel and John has to stitch up Dean's scalp and take care of the busted ribs, but he is shaking all over and he needs a drink so bad and Dean would rather shoot himself in the head than have his father's hands anywhere near his face right now. And...I dunno, it's just this beautiful disaster of guilt and anger and subconscious resentment as they fail to deal with their feelings in any kind of constructive way.

Gen, please. Sam n Dean only (no Cas). Dean somehow lands in the hospital post purgatory but pre Mark of Cain (could be an injury, an illness, or even the aftermath of the aforementioned field amputation), and Sam comes face to face with all of Dean's insecurities, PTSD, and abandonment issues. Maybe he hadn't realized that Dean would check and recheck all the bolts on the windows and doors of every motel room they stayed in, liked the bunker because the rooms only had one point of entrance / exit with labyrinthine halls perfect for being on the defense. However, despite his exhaustion / pain / drugs Dean cannot relax in the hospital room. The window is one of those single pane ones with no latch, he can't get up to secure the premises, there are way too many points of entry - the door, the window, the bathroom, the fucking air conditioning vent. He's hyper aware and maybe sliding into purgatory mode and he's terrified. Sam is awesome and gets it all and promises to keep watch.

If I Were a Caveman by

Wasn't even on a hunt. Wasn't looking for anything more than maybe getting laid, getting out of the fucking bunker for a few hours. He’s an only child now, right? Had to find a way to entertain his damn self. But no, that’s not how it works. He finishes stitching himself up. Not his best, still, damn good considering Baby’s poor inner lighting. He digs into the med kit for alcohol wipes and finds the last bottle oxycodone instead.

The werewolf had caught him in the parking lot. He guesses he was probably drunker than he thought. He had enough time to get a shot off, but not enough to avoid getting clawed. He’d peeled out of the parking lot and had only pulled over when he realized he needed to take care of wound before he passed out.

He looks at the bottle in his bloody hand. He’s not much for pain meds. Doesn't like the way them make him feel. Every breath, slightest movement tugs at the crappy stitching. He considers the burn and pull across his ribs and quickly decides it probably won’t hurt to take just one. Bunker is less than hour away. He pops one out. Pops out another. Chases it with the only drink available. It’s only a little swallow of whiskey, probably okay.

Five miles down the road, he’s pulled over again. He’s having trouble staying on the road. Seems there is suddenly one too many. He shakes his head as if that will somehow clear his vision. It doesn’t.

It takes him longer than he ever thought possible to find his phone and call his brother.

Sam looms above him, brows knitted together with worry.
“Jesus, Dean. You fucking scared me. What the fuck happened?”
“Got caught out. Didn’t see it coming, Sammy.” He slurs.
Sam inspects Dean’s work. Hisses. “Dean.”
It makes Dean laugh. It’s that fucking stupid. The way it makes him feel to hear Sam say his name. Fucking stupid. His laughter is rewarded by a sobering rush of pain. He winces. Tries to pull away. Manages only to tear his poor stitching.
“Christ, Dean. What did you take?”
Dean gestures in the general direction of the med kit. It’s hard. His arm is really fucking heavy. His whole body feels wrong.
“How many? What did you take it with? Have you even eaten today?”
“Juss two.” His mouth is dry. His tongue too big.
“Jesus.” Sam soughs. “Come on. Let’s get you home.”

Sam eases him into the cab of the truck.
“Thanks, Sammy.” Dean whispers as Sam manhandles him into a comfortable position. “Don’t feel right.”
“I know. You’re kind of stoned.” Sam teases.
“ ‘m not. Just tired.”
“Sure, Dean. Sure.”
Sam closes the door. Dean closes his eyes.

Sam/Dean or Gen: Dean is cursed so he keeps getting embarrassing little injuries - like paper cuts and banging his head getting out of the Impala etc. Hilarity ensues...

Bonus points if they don't notice for a while that the severity of these accidents is gradually increasing.
