Demon!Dean = hurt!Dean? Yes? Yes?

So, over on tumbrl there's this new Demon Dean Fest. It describes itself as follows:

Now that we have the summer hiatus before we get to see Dean as a demon, it’s a perfect time to explore the possibilities of demon!Dean!

RULES

1. This fest is open to artwork, vids, and graphics/gifs as well as fic.


2. Responses and prompts should be Dean-centric. If you want to include other characters or even have your work be from another character’s pov, that’s okay, but the focus of it should be Dean.


3. Pairings are also okay, as long as it stays about Dean rather than about Cas or Sam. This applies to other characters as well, but with Cas and Sam being main characters and Destiel and Wincest being such major ships, it’s easier for them to overshadow something that’s about Dean specifically, so we’d appreciate people being especially considerate of that.


4. No demon!Dean rapes, sexually assaults, or tortures Cas/Sam type work or prompts. Obviously you’re free to create whatever you want, but please don’t put it here. This fest is for demon!Dean, not rapisttorturer!Dean. If you want work that explores Dean’s experiences with being tortured and sexually assaulted, that’s fine.


5. Use content/trigger warnings for things such as suicide, body horror, torture, sexual assault, self-harm, etc. -on both prompts and fills


6. Works of any length or size are great (even a sentence or two for fic), and if you see a prompt that’s already been filled and want to create something for it too, go for it. If you want to make something that isn’t for a prompt, that’s great as well. The more responses and the more prompts we get, the more fun this will be!

I'm not sure I understand 4. Demon! Dean can't hurt Sam or Cas in the works for the fest and somehow demon Dean can not also be rapist/torturer Dean? How demon like can he be if he can't do bad things?

LOL, that being said, some sort of meme here of this kind (except with demon Dean allowed to be a demon with all the angst that would entail)would be awesome.

Except, technically it only excludes Sam and Cas from beint tortured? Maybe everyone else is okay? IDK :D

And then again, maybe the focus in the case of Dean torturing etc. should be demon!Dean being all "anguished and Heathcliff-like" (to quote Original Cindy).

Because, come on, there's gotta be a little bit of our Dean left, right? Right?

No, it's not related to hoodie time or h/c, I think it has to do with fandom wank, TBQH. And by that I mean that there's been a lot of tension between dean fans and Sam fans this season, due to the conflict between the brothers. So i think there's a worry that Demon!Dean could be used to further vilify Dean and/or victimize Sam, and that's not the aim/goal of this meme. The goal is to explore Dean's new identity and have fun with it. And I think there are plenty of ways to explore demon!dean without him torturing or sexually assaulting anyone. Demon!Dean might want chain smoke, do some lines of coke with a stripper in Reno, beat up his fourth grade english teacher, take a piss on John Winchester's grave or get a tattoo of Jessica Rabbit on his ass. Who does Dean go with, what cause does he take up? Does he stick with Crowley, or do something more unexpected? What does he remember of who he used to be? How does he feel, physically? There are so many questions and possibilities!

I personally would love to have a similar demon!Dean meme here. I'm not active on tumblr and I think that for this to work here the rules should probably change a bit but I for one would love to participate, since I never had a chance to participate in a Dean-centric meme before. :)
