This is the last day of the official posting period for hoodie_time's curtain!fic/art Week, which has gone SMASHINGLY, I think. It was a new thing for us, so I was a tad worried, but yeah, it's been so much fun. \o/ And if you have't got your entry in yet, not to worry! You have a bit of time to work with. As long as it's still the 23rd somewhere in the world when you post your submission to the comm you're golden; we're really not picky about that.

There will be no extensions for this mini challenge, but if you finish one late we’d still looove to see it. ♥ You can post it late using .amnesty and the .mini challenge (curtain!fic/art week) tags if you’d like so people interested in the challenge can find it; it just won’t be part of the masterlist.

On that note, the mini challenge masterlist will be going up in the coming days. Be on the lookout!

I'm trying to get mine done tonight. It and RL sort of rolled me a bit, but maybe, just maybe I'll get this one finished tonight. We shall see. In the meantime, I have to go stick my mums in the dirt and THEN get back to it.

I'm working on it like mad - it's at 9 something now and there's probably at least 2-5k left to write, maybe more if I keep getting effin' sidetracked and writing in things that come out of nowhere. WTF, this whole fic is out of nowhere. And it's not even curtain fic so much as it is having and then losing that settled down life. As usual, I Am Doing It Wrong. But, what the heck, it might be entertaining enough if I can finish it. It's keeping me amused anyway, which I admit to needing because this week's been a bummer. My warning list even amuses me. Warnings: Language, torture, handjobs, mentions of bestiality among demons, Dean choking a cat, an abundance of absurdities I should probably include the man-eating hellhound puppies in that warning...

MUMS. If I had the cash, honestly, I'd have bought a ton of the $2 pots and put them in the dirt all along the path to the porch, but finances are an issue, so I just filled my pots and made an assorted basket. I always do rust and/or deep red because they're my favorites, but I went all crazy and have mixed colors this year. It's WEIRD for me and I like it.

Erm, yeah, babbling. Carry on and plant mums!! (They DO come back!)

I have several autumn plants/flowers that are still giving or just starting to give me colour, but I miss the brilliance of full summer and mums are pretty brilliant. I've been eyeing them at the store lately!

Well, more like 12-15k really. This weirdness, she has gotten away from me. Yeah, this week's been poo, though writing does still seem to have some cathartic power over me, which is no bad thing.

I didn't do anything this summer and I think that's why I stopped writing sometime around noon and decided that TODAY THERE WOULD BE MUMS. It didn't hurt that Westlake had them all on sale. I'm very eager for the ton of blooms on the big pots to open up. It should be very colorful.

Next spring? I'm seeding mums and actually going to Do Something With the Yard of Death (unless you're a baby mimosa tree, then it's the Yard of Much Growing, little bastards.) I would very much like to lay a patio back there for a chair or two and maybe a grill or firepit and I keep telling myself that if I plan for it now, that it's not getting ahead of myself, not even if I do replace the ugly chain fence. I think it's just that the weather has been so nice this week that I've been dying for a nice place to sit outside and read/write/drink wine and go "ahhhhhh." The front porch is too weird for it, it's like being on display and the backyard has trees. So, yeah, outside is good. Check the local fliers about town - someone's bound to have mums on sale. Here even the ginormous pots were only 10.99, though I stayed in the more sedate 2-5.99 range.

Anyway, back to Dean, the fairy, and the upcoming cat.
