Rules for prompting fic:

This is a Dean-focused hurt-comfort challenge, so Dean should be the one in the hurt/comforted role. Your prompts may involve sick!Dean, hurt!Dean, angsty!Dean or anything else that results in Dean being on the receiving end of hurt/comfort.

Comment to this post with a prompt/prompts, including desired genre/pairing if you have one. (ie: gen, Sam/Dean, no preference, etc.) If you don’t note your preferences, they will be up to whoever claims the prompt.

All genres/pairings are welcome, however this is not an RPF challenge. Please focus on the fictional characters only.

You can leave up to a limit of five prompts, but one prompt per comment, please. If you've got a few, comment with each separately.

Anyone is welcome to leave prompts. You don't have to participate in the rest of the challenge to leave a prompt.

Yes, you may also prompt anonymously. We’ll trust you to leave no more than five prompts, pretty please. (The prompts list might get unmanageable otherwise.)

Your prompts can be as short or as detailed as you’d like. Some authors like to have a lot of room to move in and some prefer to have specific directions as to what they write.

Rules for prompting art:

To prompt art, everything is the same as the rules above for prompting fic, (please review them) except you must put ‘ART PROMPT’ in the subject line of your prompts for it to be counted as an art prompt. Putting together the list of prompts is a fairly large project for the mods so we might miss that it is an art prompt otherwise.

Also, if you have a preference, please specify in your prompt what type of genre (gen, Sam/Dean, etc.) as well as what type of art you are looking for with your prompts, (whether it be traditional, digital, whatever.) If you don’t note your preferences, they will be up to whoever claims the prompt.

Deadline for submitting prompts:

Up to and including January 20th.

Claiming prompts:

January 22nd up to an including February 22nd.

On January 22nd you will be able to claim one prompt only. A week later we will make another claims post and you will be able to claim further and/or multiple prompts. You will be able to claim up to a limit of 4 prompts, however please be realistic as to how many fanworks you can create before the posting deadline.

Only one person will be able to claim each prompt. (Depending on the amount of art prompts we receive, art prompts only may be able to claimed by two separate people. We’ll seeee.)

Sam hates to use his psychic powers unless he absolutely has to because he knows the consequences are paid by his brother. Dean gets horrible headaches anytime Sam uses his powers. The longer the precognition or telekinesis is used, the worse Dean's headaches get, to the point of being debilitating.

Not sure how 'hurty' this is, but I hope it still fits the bill. *cough* depression *cough*

Sam works in a clothes store for men. Dean is in love with the mannequin there.

It may not seem like much, but I'm not talking about a crush. Dean is slightly obsessed with this creature; sometimes he visits Sam when he has late shifts, just so he can talk to the mannequin while his brother locks up shop. Every day when he comes to and from work, he has to stop to stare at the window for a while. He dreams of the mannequin at night, etc.

Basically, anything with depressed!obsessed!Dean and something that's not real. tho if you want to make Cas real, feel free. Go crazy with it! 8D

Dean shows up at Lisa's door in 5.22 seriously injured. A fic about their lives together, Dean's dealing with a permanent injury, how he relates to Ben, missing Sam, his alcohol problem, etc. include any or all of these! Any type of injury is totally cool (damaged vision, leg injury [crutches!], hearing loss, etc)!

Super major bonus points if Dean attends some sporting event of Ben's and the author addresses his meeting of the parents of other players (even more if Ben is embarrassed by Dean, but then feels guilty for feeling embarrassed).

Gen. Teenage Dean struggles to deal with a new diagnosis of epilepsy. The doctors are trying to find the correct combination of medications for him, but so far no luck and he continues to have seizures. Both grand-mal and smaller ones where he just stares off into space blinking and looking like he's in a world of his own.

Hypothermia - Dean gets trapped somewhere with below freezing temp (inside a storage cooler? beneath the water of a frozen lake? etc?) and Sam can see him but can't get to him right away, and is racing against the clock to get Dean freed.

Dean breaks both arms and both legs as a teenager. Bobby takes care of him while John takes Sam on his first hunt. Dean is stuck with four painful & itchy casts, plus he's worried sick about not being there to have his little brothers back. Uncle bobby is awesome as always. :)

Poor Dean is allergic to everything. Medications, foods, dust ect.. they get trapped somewhere or kidnapped & he's exposed to one of his worse triggers, resulting in a serious reaction. As he struggles to breathe Sam has to try and find a way of getting help. GEN.

I COULDN'T CHOOSE SO I QUOTED THE WHOLE SONG.

The song itself strikes me as way too emo for Dean to listen to but I think it says things about him! Because he's all with the self-sacrificing, and the daddy issues, and the life-spinning-out-of-control-ness, and the loss.

I guess to make it into more of a prompt I'm thinking S7 Dean, all teary and feverish and losing it, and Sammeh loving him up PROPERLY, in a gen way or a slash way, in fic or in art or in vidness or in whatever form makes you happy.

Sam and Dean are staying at a cabin in winter and the cabin is on a river and there are RIVER OTTERS that play in the snow and make slides and are adorable. They find an injured one and don't know what to do and take it inside and give it some loooove. It latches onto Dean and becomes his baby. ETA and Dean is like, "This thing is so ugly, get it off," but secretly he loooves it and feeds it treats and snuggles it when he thinks Sam's not looking. UH (OMG I forgot the h/c part) and also Dean is hurt or sick and recovering and so he and the otter are recovering together. In Season 7 for example, during the recovering cabin month.
