This post is to announce/celebrate the fact that we’re all pretty and shiny now! lilhellsangel graciously made a header for the main comm page and a profile banner, as well as supplying me with various versions of each header/banner, and an entirely different header too. They’re all gorgeous and I’m going to be flipping between them, as I can’t quite decide on a fave! I really love the minimalist look of the one I'm using now, but the other one is soooo lovely too. It uses that cap of the x-ray showing the Enochian sigils on Dean's ribs, which I always thought was awesome looking.

lilhellsangel was an absolute joy to work with. She’s super-nice, and very talented. Her graphics journal is saltandfeathers if you want to check out her other work.

Me tooooooo. I wanted something b & w and minimal-ish that's beautiful, yes, but also blends really well into the layout because it's those things. And that's totally what this does.

The main page banner and the profile one are both gorgeous! (I particularly like the equation on the profile one. SO TRUE.)


For some reason the subheader text on the main page is displaying for me as hot pink on a hot pink background for me, though? Is it just my browser being ridiculous? (I would definitely not be surprised. XD)

LJ was being screwy earlier, so hopefully that's all it is. I just checked it on two computers and it's fine here.

Ohhhh, I see what you guys are talking about; I thought you meant the links to the user info, memories, archive, etc. I actually did that to the subheader text myself; I thought it might be too large/distracting with the new banner. Y/n?

Yes, I see what you mean! But I like the subheader's text... what if it was just a few shades lighter/darker? so it was almost invisible but could still be seen? Just a though!

I've always been fond of hoodie_time's title text(s). XD Maybe choose or alternate between the two lines, so it's just the one? I kind of like Roque's idea of a slightly off shade of pink, so it's there but not so overt that it distracts from the banner?

Technically speaking, I know for sure it can (or the line-height can be adjusted so it all fits in the pink bar)! LJ-speaking, uhhhh. XD Is this one of LJ's pre-made layouts, or did someone make it? I tend not to futz with whatever Livejournal's got going on, but a few lines in the 'custom stylesheet' portion of Journal Styles could probably get the font size down.

It does, it does; I think it's just me being neurotic because it dips into the darker pink instead of all staying in the hot pink. IDK my brain is telling me it should all be in the hot pink but I'm sure it's fine. Just whatever looks best to you!!

Oh, I get it; I'm totally neurotic about that kind of thing too, haha. But it doesn't do that on any of the computers I've looked at it on; it stays well into the hot pink. LJ IS SO CONFUSING AHHH.
