Summary: Okay, here's what was happening in my brainplace during the evolution of this painting: remote cabin the boys knew as youngsters, snowed in or decidedly hiding out, Dean went out for 'x' and didn't come back, Sam found him...
A/N: Worked on this FAR to long. Still things I'd like to tweak. Oh, well. Was hearing Mumford & Sons' "Timshel" throughout. There ya go! Break out yer hankies.

Hmm, I like especially the fact that they aren't carbon copies of the actors--that they look like people who exist in their own right. Not that I'm saying they aren't true to life, or anything, just that I personally prefer it if characters are able to exist independently of the people that portray them. I really get a sense of that here, whether it was deliberate or not. ;) The depictions have substance, and you get the sense that they could stand up and go out in the world and do...awesome stuff, all on their own. Love it!

OMG, I love you. That's absolutely how I feel about it. I don't want anyone to say "Oh, that's from 'X' episode". Sam and Dean ARE critters in their own right. I want to offer something we haven't seen before. You totally made my day!

Oh this is a thing of beauty... I adore the way the firelight is backlighting everything, creating gorgeous warm highlights around the hanging amulet, and the boys' faces. And their expressions are so heartbreaking. A picture is, indeed, worth a thousand words. ♥

I have to say you did a wonderful job with this. I love your use of light. I could not stop staring at the lighting on the lashes of Sam or the shadow cast on Dean's neck. I also loved the necklace hanging over the fire. Great job love this

This is absolutely beautiful. I love how their skin colors are different, so pale and almost translucent for Dean and warm for Sam.
Your shadows and highlights are amazing. I'm particularly fond of the grey/light purple shadow on Dean's face and of the red color all around his eyes.
They hair and beards are beautiful too, particularly the golden highlights ♥

Hopeless expressions... Their noses, so hard to get just right -- you got them; Sam's hand, though not incredibly detailed, is definitely his hand. The folds in the blanket, their beards, freckles and eyebrows, and even the fire behind them and the outline of flame yellow on their faces. Very nice!

If I had more time, I'd tweak that derned hand...it's the one part of the pic that rubs me wrong. And I might rat-up the blanket a tad, too. Maybe once I get done with BigBang stuff, I'll go back in. Thanks for the lovely comment, ma'am!
