Summary: SPN AU.  Sometime in 1988 John Winchester is arrested after he takes out a pack of werewolves (and is naturally considered a 'serial killer' by the local authorities). The boys are put in separate foster homes and grow up in very different lifestyles. The point at which this story begins, the boys have already been separated for five years. Their struggles living apart, and their fateful reunion will be the however many hours' traffic of our stage.

Btw, I recced an ADORABLE h-c-y Dean/Cas-ish chibi-spam by this artist the other day if you missed it. I’m impressed that the styles of these two pieces are so different, yet equally fabulous.

Sleep Well, America by petite_madame
Artist’s notes/summary: Sam and Dean after a hunt, at dawn, with the remains of a freshly killed revenant on the roof of the Impala. I set the action in a suburban neighborhood to show the contrast between the boys' job (dangerous and lonely) and the town, with all its beautiful little houses and its inhabitants unaware of the dangers surrounding them. Hence the title, Sleep well, America., the boys are here... Dean, Sam, gen.

petite_madame is one of the first names that show up on SPN art rec lists, and for good reason. Her work is so beautifully realistic. And I feel like even if you haven't read the artist’s notes, you can imagine a whole story behind this particular piece of art. There’s so much to see, and it’s so atmospheric, with the slightly muted colours of suburbia at dawn, the looming clouds, the boys’ facial expressions... all of it. ♥
