Reccer's notes: marlowe78 says: After a kept promise, Dean breaks down completely and returns to old habits -literally. Sam is a little out of his elements but he shoulders the burden to be the responsible one for some time. To make matters even better, a pissed Japanese demon is after Dean, looking for revenge. This is Dean on heroin-withdrawal, and some might consider the idea of Dean on drugs as out of character - I beg to differ.

The author is one of the best, her Winchester-voices are spot-on never cross the line into schmoopy but stay caring and loving nonetheless. Sam is wonderful, I would totally want such a brother who knows what to give and when to step away. A fine piece of work that grips you and keeps you awake till 3:00 in the morning. 21 chapters.

Author’s notes/summary: Based on the prompt: I want Dean in traction. Multiple broken bones. Surgery. Weird scary external fixators. And Dean freaking out internally but trying to play it cool for Sam or Dad or both. Bonus points for any forehead smoothing. Be as cruel to the boy as you can imagine, but bring it home with the comfort, baby. Gen.

Surgery', this fic delivers in spades and screws with Dean's mind as much as his body.
