hoodie_timeWell, yesterday I posted a batch of recs centred around season 4 Dean dealing with PTSD, which is a topic I’m really interested in. Well, this is one of my new favourites that's set in season 4, but it didn’t quite fit in that post, so it gets it’s very own:
Clinic by Hanson’s Angel
Author’s notes/summary: Just some pure, shameless very sick Dean and awesome Sam on my self-indulgent part because that seems to be my thing right now. And I do mean, sick. Poor guy. Sam, Dean, gen.
Reccer's notes: Occasionally I’m wandering around ff.net at 2 a.m. reading all the hurt/comfort-y fic I can get my hands on (whatever, you know you’ve done it too!) and I stumble across a GEM. This fic is totally one of those gems. It’s set near the beginning of season 4, when Dean is dealing (or not dealing) with his memories of hell by completely overworking himself, which results in him getting really run down in this process, sick, and progressively sicker, while Sam tries his best to take care of him. The author calls this self-indulgent, but I think it’s a lot more than that. I mean, I love fics that deal with this time period to start with, but I can honestly say there aren’t enough of them that deal with Dean’s post-hell issues as thoughtfully as this one does.
This fic also has an amazing, patient and caring Sam who I kind of want to marry, and a beautiful, strangely hopeful ending. You’ll see what I mean!
