Cold by [livejournal.com profile] chastityswayy
Author's notes/summary: Dean’s got a cold. Sam takes care of him. Shower sex follows. PWP. 1,989 words. NC-17, pre-series Sam/Dean.

Reccer's notes: An anon says: What is it about Sam saying the words, “Let me take care of you, Dean,” that puts stars in my eyes? This was both hot and sweet.

Insomnia by Onari
Author's notes/summary: After the deal is broken, Sam gets a worrying call from Dean and both Winchesters are forced to face the fact that the past never goes away. AU. 89,165 words. PG, gen.

Reccer's notes: An anon says: This is one of the best stories I've read. In it, Sam gets a call from Dean and when he arrives, Dean is exhausted and won't fall asleep. They try for days to get Dean to sleep but he can't. The answer was very surprising but very believable. Dean also deals with the physical, mental, and emotional fallout from not being able to sleep.

Hit the Lights by ontara
Author's notes/summary: Waking up in a pine box, in total darkness, buried alive... you don't have to be claustrophobic to panic in a situation like this. A season 4 one-shot. 3,676 words. PG-13. Sam, Dean, gen.

Reccer's notes: [livejournal.com profile] marlowe78 says: Awesomely fear-inducing. Even without claustrophobia you get into the mood. Very scary and very good.

Sick Days by RealFunkyTown
Author's notes/summary: Dean’s obsession with apparently random medical deaths from his past lands him and Sam in the middle of a deadly epidemic. When Dean falls ill Sam struggles to keep his brother alive long enough to learn the truth about what’s happening to the town. Main story takes place Season 2 (2007) sometime after ‘Born Under a Bad Sign’ with flashbacks to 1987. 50,231 words. PG, gen.

Reccer's notes: An anon says: This is a great casefic, featuring all my faves - Ellen and Jo in particular make an appearance that made me cheer! I really loved Ellen mothering Dean while Sam was busy researching. Protective!Sam is always good, but something about protective!Ellen calling Dean "honey" and just being her awesome self in general really won me over.

Agents and Hunters by sg2009 @ [livejournal.com profile] sg2009fic
Author's notes/summary: SPN/NCIS crossover. People who work in Abby's lab are never what they seem. And Sam is no exception. 35,098 words. PG, gen.

Reccer's notes: [livejournal.com profile] mousme says: I'm not usually a huge fan of crossovers. Inevitably, I find that one show or the other gets neglected in favour of the other, or that the characters from one show are bent out of character in order to accommodate the plot, or something else doesn't quite work. So I was really pleased to be proved wrong with this story. The author weaves the two universes together seamlessly, and has a really good grasp of all the characters involved. Plus, it's a really exciting, well-researched casefic, with bonus hurt!Sam and a little bit of PTSD!post-hell!Dean.

Blended Reality by sg2009 @ [livejournal.com profile] sg2009fic
Author's notes/summary: John runs into his sons in a bar. And they seem to be under the impression he's been dead for three years. Season 4/5 spoilers. 25,159 words. PG, gen.

Reccer's notes: [livejournal.com profile] adrenalineshots says: A brilliant blend of John and Jim into season's 4 and 5 myth arc.

Outside the Storm by [livejournal.com profile] vanillafluffy
Author's notes/summary: Written for the prompt - "I would love to read Wee!chesters. :D Sam and Dean have the flu, so John has to take care of his sick and snotty kiddies or something." 6,100 words. PG for language. Pre-series gen.

Reccer's notes: An anon says: It's always nice to see the softer side of John! This has some sweet, tender moments, without ignoring the isolation and other issues that the Winchesters dealt with after Mary died. Wonderful.
