Summary: Remix ofjennytork‘s “Click” for the hoodie_time  Dean Focused H/C Remix Challenge. Before going to hell, Dean encounters a dream version of himself irrevocably altered by his time in the pit. This vision comes back to him as he loses his sight in later years and an offer is made.

Author’s Note: Yikes, did I ever take this in a different direction. I read jennytork‘s haunting fic and found myself wondering, after all that’s happened to the brothers, why would Dean start to dream about that particular vision of himself? The conclusion I came to is a little warped and bleak. I hope that jennytork  does not mind overly much and likes what I’ve done at least a little. Please be sure to head over to her journal (link above) to read her story, from which this idea was born and thus could not exist without her chilling and sad tale.

A/N: This fic was written for mad_server , my friend and amazing beta. At the hoodie_time Holiday Wish List, she asked for "Dizzy Deeeean. Like really dizzy, feverish hurting exhausted run down Dean, with Sam fretting over him and loving him up". So here I am, baby! With a big ol' Santa sack!
SUMMARY: Dean needs to know Sam has his back. And Sam desperately wants to prove it. Unfortunately, the rest of the world seems determined to beat Sam to the punch. Or eggnog.

HAIR OF THE DOG Chapters 1 - 6

Sometimes, the cure is worse than the disease ...

A Lyndworm hunt goes south and Dean suffers as a result, nightmarish visions and awesome Sam and Bobby abound, whilst my old friend Tom Matthews from 'Dry' makes an appearance.

A word on Tom; Tom Matthews is my OC; he has only been seen before in my story 'Dry' where Bobby describes him as an old friend, a Doctor who runs an 'off the books' clinic looking after hunters. He is described as short and plump with expressive dark brown eyes. In their first meeting when Dean was, once again, in bad straights, Sam liked him and trusted him on sight.

My story, 'Dry' is not yet posted on LJ, but can be found on Fanfiction.net, under my author name of Dizzo.
