Author's Note: Written for the magnificent maychorian on the occasion of her birth, in response to a prompt she left here on her comment-meme.  This is a well-known theme, and I do not claim to have done anything new -- in fact, I claim the opposite.  So if you're looking for something smart, look elsewhere.  But if you're looking for two obnoxious boys and some standard h/c in some ambiguous pre-angel season, you can look here :)

Reccer's notes: Sneaky!Sam is my FAVOURITE. This was super-adorable. de_nugis is on fire lately; she posted another fic (also gen) here just yesterday which is just as adorable and features Dean + hamsters. No, seriously!

Author’s notes/summary: John wasn't supposed to die on a routine hunt. Sam wasn't supposed to stick to Dean's side like he'd been glued there afterwards. And Dean sure as hell wasn't supposed to turn into the poster boy for Ripley's Believe It Or Not. Sometimes things just don't go the way they're supposed to. Warnings and ratings will be listed in the headers of the fic as posted. The beginning is gen, and there will be Sam/Dean (as the primary pairing) and Dean/OMC later on.

Reccer’s notes: I know I’ve seen this recced around quite a bit, but for some reason I just picked it up this week! Anyway, I love it a lot. Dean trying to take care of Sam after their father’s death, and Sam having to take care of Dean in a way he never has before is very engaging, as is the mysterious case they fall into later on in the story. This is a WIP, but it was updated as recently as a few weeks ago.

Escaping it could prove to be impossible. This story is set in Season 1 after 1.16, Shadow. Approximately 120,000 words. PG-13, Dean, Sam, gen.

Reccer’s notes: Dean and Sam decked out in gunslinger-attire? I am SO THERE. A recently finished WIP, this features such a well-thought out casefile as well, and great brotherly banter. I loved getting back into that season one vibe with this.
