First time posting here. I hope this story qualifies. :)

Title: Return To The Fire

Summary: It was supposed to be an easy job, a simple salt & burn, but it's anything but for Dean as memories emerge.
Disclaimer: Eric Kripke owns Sam & Dean & the Impala. I'm just a fan letting her creative juices flow and enjoying all the brotherly angst in the process.

A/N: Takes place in S4, two weeks after Dean's returned from Hell.
AU in a way because there's no mention of Castiel, but one could assume that he's still the one who pulled Dean from the pit. My idea was that Dean wouldn't remember hell until something seemingly simple and innocent sparked the memories.

Challenge 1: A Dean-focused h/c fic challenge / CLAIMING POST

This is the post where you can claim prompts for the Dean-focused hurt/comfort fic challenge.

You can find out all the rules and other details of the challenge HERE. Please review them before claiming a prompt. There aren’t very many rules, but they’re important. ;) The big ones, just so no one misses them, are:

a. Challenge fics should be 2,500 words minimum. There is no maximum! Longer stories are encouraged, and very much appreciated.
b. No WIPS, sorry. Stories should be complete and posted to the community all at once (with links to all chapters included.)
c. Posting period - Anytime after you've claimed a prompt through to February 14th. (Valentine's Day!) March 14th.

01. A list of prompts are available above, and all are categorized and numbered. In a comment to this post, let me know which number(s) you would like to claim.

02. You may claim up to two prompts.

03. Only one person will be able to claim each prompt, except under special circumstances.

04. I'll try to update the prompt list as frequently as possible, crossing out which prompts have already been claimed and ensuring that no two people claim the same prompt.

05. If someone else claims the prompt you wanted, then pleeeease try and find another that appeals to you, and feed my hurt/comfort addiction in the process! Haha.

I want this to be a low-stress event, so our posting period is pretty generous compared to most fic challenges I've seen.

You may post your challenge fics to the community anytime you want to after you've claimed a prompt here, up until February 14th (Valentine's Day.) Perhaps MOST IMPORTANTLY, make sure you re-read and review the fic challenge rules before you do so!
