Summary: Canon divergent after s7 - instead of going to Purgatory, Dean is captured and held as a sex slave by monsters for weeks, and put into a magical restraining collar which is transferred to Sam upon rescue. It has no obvious way of removal. This fic follows the first stages of Dean's dependency as Sam works out how to look after him.

*NOTE* It's not quite as dark as it sounds from the warnings - the rape scene is one brief (but graphic) flashback which is signposted in the fic, and you can skip it without missing out on the plot if you really hate reading that sort of thing. The story begins with Dean's rescue, so it doesn't dwell on his time in captivity - the emphasis is on the collar, and Sam doing his best.

This story is the foundation for an entire h/c series which explores the long-term psychological effects of the collar and Dean's coping mechanism, which is - eventually - to collar himself to Sam in a mild Dom/Sub relationship. Some future timestamps have been posted already (follow 'next work' buttons) but I'm still working on the middle part of the story, how Dean gets the collar off but then spirals out of control from PTSD and loss of self-esteem. Sam is caring and supportive throughout the entire series (hence the comfort), but rather out of his depth! The later stories where they have worked things out are much happier (aside from what canon throws at them).

Winchester Family fic rec

So, for awhile now I have had this idea for a fic where dean was raised by John, and Sam by Mary. Dean is mentally handicapped or acts young in some way (maybe because of a disability he acts younger like between 5 and 10) but John still taught and raised him like a hunter. Mary also raised Sam as a hunter. For some reason Mary and Sam have to track down John and Dean (maybe a demon is after Dean or they just need Johns help with a complicated hunt). They all meet again Sam and Dean for the first time. Mary is surprised that dean is able to be a hunter (though I still imagine him getting help form John and John being protective of him). John and Mary fight, but John is happy to meet Sam. Sam and Dean get closer with Sam learning how to take care of Dean and Dean having fun with Sammy. Mary is against Dean being a hunter either because she worries ore because she looks down on Dean. I imagine that Bobby and Samuel are around and part of the team (Bobby with Dean and John and Samuel with Mary and Sam). I imagine Dean being very adorable and affectionate but sometimes being difficult and throwing tantrums.

I would really love it if someone could make my idea come to life! I love coming up with the ideas but don't have the time or skills to execute the. Thank!

He was now just getting to the stack, reading through them to see if there was anything of interest in them. Dean had been wound pretty tight lately and was restless. Even Sam was beginning to feel the walls closing in on himself. They really needed something to hunt. Sam’s eyebrows raised as he picked up the Minnesota Times and began to read the front page. If it hadn’t been for the color picture of a little girl in pigtails, smiling up at him with shining brown eyes, he might have overlooked the story all together.

*A/N: I deleted my own post last year about this WIP while going through a bad bout of anxiety. So, seeing as I've added a few new chapters since then, I thought I'd re-post. I really hope that's okay (and my apologies if I miss any PM's -- I'm apparently a complete moron, because I cannot for the life of me work the LJ inbox anymore. Not sure why).

This started out as a Sam-centric fic, and it still is, so fair warning about that; but my fondness for Dean and his struggles snuck in soon enough. So, this fic has caretaker!Dean who is also increasingly revealing and dealing with his own trauma, and we get his POV as well. I think that might be relevant here. The next chapter I'm working on seems to be relatively Dean-heavy, too.

Summary: So, I’ve been tinkering with this one for a while. It’s set seven years after the events of ‘Picking Up the Pieces’ (which is set after the events of ‘Taking Some Time’… it’s a whole thing. You should read those first.) This is set after 9.11 First Born, and leads into 9.12 Sharp Teeth (because Jensen was deliciously sick during filming, and this just begged to be written). So spoilers for everything that happened before that time, obviously. And spoilers for the two fics it precedes. Basically Dean is sick and carrying the weight of the world (isn’t he always?) and ends up in Riley’s area on a night he’s particularly vulnerable. Angst and feels ensue. You’ve been warned.
Notes: Since this is like the third story in an apparent series I realise it should be some sort of “verse”, like the Taking-Some-Time-verse, but I can’t call it that because that’s stupid. Or the Dean-broke-his-back-and-suffers-PTSD-and-what-not-verse. Clearly, I’m not good at this. Suggestions are appreciated… just for… reference sake. Thanks, darlings.

He’s doing his earnest counselor shtick and probably saying all the “right things.” He mentions two different kinds of crutches and Dean knows this is part of the talk he has already tuned out with the doctor. Sam’s probably talked to the guy about this crap, has probably done internet research on How to Acclimate Cripples to the Real World. Dean doesn’t need to hear this.
