Reccer’s comments: This is a Sam-centric story, that, like many of my fave SPN fics, focuses on one brother, but is all about the other brother at the same time. A take on Sam breaking Dean’s deal and the aftermath of that, it's an A+ example of storytelling. The mystery at the centre of it is revealed bit by bit, in a wonderful, unfurling kind of way.

Reccer’s comments: This was posted way back in 2006 (forever ago in internet years!) but it remains super-awesome and you should check it out if you haven’t! Complete with a complicated, layered father/son dynamic, moral dilemmas, and much whumped-yet-resilient!Dean, this is everything I love in a pre-series fic.
