Lonely Prompts Roundup & Challenge
(as of July 26th, 2010)

ETA: As there are now many memes, etc. making things harder to keep track of, there will be no more posts like this. Instead see the Lonely Prompts Spotlight, which happens every month or so. This highlights 5 lonely prompts per posting, in the hopes that someone/several someones will pick them up. ;)

Because what this hiatus needs is more h/c, amirite?

Last month, doylescordy noted that we had some fabulous unwritten prompts left over from various challenges/memes, and suggested I put together something where all of them are put up in a new list. So, that’s what this post is all about! All of our lonely prompts as of today (July 26th, 2010) are below for your perusal.

Soooo, if you’re looking for a plot bunny, look no further!

The Lonely Prompts Challenge is perpetually open. It isn’t an ~official challenge~ like others we've done; it's just something that will hopefully inspire some of you. If you decide to pick up one of these prompts, that's awesome. There's no claiming or deadlines or anything, and no limit on how many people can write for a prompt - just write away!

You can use the .lonely prompts challenge tag when posting to the comm, and please also leave a link to your fic at the original prompt in the case of the comment-fic meme prompts (I've included links to the original prompts in the lists below) so that I can add it to the comment-fic meme masterlist/people can find it better. Other than that, there are no rules.

Instead, you guys will be able to re-prompt any untouched (unclaimed or claimed but unwritten) prompts from the last fic challenge during our next fic challenge. (Slated for summer or fall, 2011.) Uh, obviously anyone who’s filled one of these lonely prompts in the lonely prompts challenge, WE LOVE YOU, and this will have no effect on you.]

A new lonely prompts roundup/challenge will hopefully be posted whenever there are enough new memes/challenges to support it. In the case that I fall behind on doing these, you can browse all the comment-fic memes yourself here.

And you can totally snag any prompts from the comment-fic memes that have already been written for as well, fyi. The more the merrier!

Oh, and btw, we’re due for another comment-fic meme September-ish, if you were wondering! ;)

This one of mine for the Dean focused hurt/comfort fic challenge prompts was claimed but I haven't seen it filled. I attempted to contact the person who claimed but didn't receive a reply.

94. A male vampire has the hots for Dean, captures him and makes him his happy meal.

Sam is recuperating from illness/injury/whatever you want..at Bobby's so it's a while before they realize anything is wrong.

When they get him back Dean is not only in a bad way physically but mentally as well.

Hey, I'm sorry to hear that. ;( This is in the fic challenge rules asking people who can't complete their fics to let me know so I can make the prompt available again:

Hey, guys! I'll be adding late fics to the masterlist up to and including June 30th, at which point I won't be adding anymore, buuuut we'd totally LOVE to see your fic whenever! ;D Please use our .amnesty tag if you're posting after the 30th.

This isn't a reciprocal fic challenge, so if you don't end up completing your fic for whatever reason don't sweat it, but in that case it would be awesome if you'd let me know/send me your prompt # so I can make the prompt available to others.

If you do that, I will uncross your prompt in the prompt-list and it will revert back to being a leftover prompt. Which just means that it's open for anyone to write if it catches their eye. Leftover prompts aren't part of the fic challenge either and won't be part of the fic challenge masterlist, etc.

Most people who haven't been able to complete their fics have done this, but some haven't. I'll tell you what, I'll look into it and let you know what's up. I'm also going to add a note to the end of this post for authors, reminding them to do this if they haven't.

It's good you mentioned it; I want the list to be as complete as possible. ;) And that's a great prompt toooo.

I've contacted the author, but it looks like they haven't been on LJ since early March, (I hope everything's okay!) so if I don't hear back soon I'll totally put it back in the prompt list.

I made the prompt available again.

I haven’t heard back from the claimer yet (it hasn’t been very long, though!) but I figured I’ll just do it this way, and then anyone can pick it up again whenever, including the claimer if they want to, and it’ll be cooler for everyone that way. ;) Sorry I didn’t have this all sorted out beforehand.

Anyway, I really hope someone writes it. Pretty!Dean! Vampires!!!

My love for this comm continues to grow. Another comment-fic meme is coming in September....*Squeals happily* I love hurting Dean so I'm going to have to see if anything inspires me. (And that sounds kind of sadistic. Poor Dean. He shouldn't be so pretty and angsty)

I can't wait! I want to have another comment-fic meme, like, right now, sooo badly. (I've noticed there's a bit of a lack of Dean-ish h/c during the summer, although of course there are Big Bangs to look forward to!) BUT I want to spread them out so that no one gets tired of them too.

No. If you want to write for one of these prompts (yay, by the way!) there's no claiming or anything, you just write and post your fic wherever you want to, i.e., to your journal, site, wherever. Preferably, you'd also post it to the main hoodie_time comm.

This post is just to highlight our currently unwritten prompts in the hopes that they inspire a few people. Make sense?
